In The Tortilla Curtain, Delaney Mossbacher surprises us all. He changes. In the beginning of the novel he was this way, and the end of the novel he is something you can hardly recognize anymore. Really. He’s an environmental activist. He’s a good husband and caring father. He believes all Americans are immigrants. At least, that’s how the book starts out. Teyanna followed him until the end. What she sees from him in the final chapters makes for her MVP. I agree. It was a very important part of the book, but there’s nothing good about it either. Below is an excerpt of her MVP argument:
