What happened to Kurt Cobain? Before his untimely suicide at age 27, he had said that his use of Ritalin in the second grade spurred him to a life of hard drug use. From Ritalin, he looked for other drugs to solve other problems – most notably, heroin. Because many studies show early success with Ritalin, doctors often overprescribe. They think Ritalin before they consider other viable strategies.
Below, English 009 student and guitar player Joshua Espinoza explores Kurt’s life history with drugs and mental illness.
Below, we share a video of a very significant song in Kurt's catalog. "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle." Both Kurt and Frances suffered through bipolar disorder. Both were unable to find the support and/or understanding they needed.
