JFK Conspiracy: Murder in Plain Sight
The only person that was suspicious about who actually killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America, was Jim Garrison. In the 1950’s the CIA began training assassins. The assassins went around the world killing the people that they thought were evil. The CIA worked for JFK and there is suspicion that they are the ones responsible for his death. In the movie JFK Jim Garrison had a meeting with ex CIA agent Mr. X. Mr. X reveals that there was a lot of planning in JFK’s murder. He talks about how the CIA operated and that there were a lot of basic security violations. Mr. X proudly boasted,”We were good.” This meant that the CIA could have orchestrated the assassination and had the means to get away with it. Nowadays many believe that Jim Garrison was right, and that the CIA were involved in the murder. The files that were finally released in 2017 showed that Lee Harvey Oswald was always being tracked by the government. For some mysterious reason they lost track of him exactly the day of JFK’s murder. President Donald Trump announced that not all of the files were going to be released, and he pushed back the release dates even further. Are we ever going to get the whole truth, or is it too dangerous for people to learn the truth?
In 1963 JFK’s term was cut short. The young president was about three years into his presidential term. He had already done and seeked what other presidents didn't. He had achieved peace with the Soviets, and had ended the cold war. That was going to look good for his next presidential campaign, so many of his enemies declared him a target. Most likely he was going to win the next election campaign. It was said by some people that he was pro- communism and that he was a weak president. The president of the United States of America was killed because his enemies wanted war, but he wanted peace.
Film director Oliver Stone doesn’t want us to forget the assassination. I wasn’t even born when the murder occured; in fact, I wasn’t even born when the movie came out. After watching the movie about 30 years after the premier and 60 years after JFK’s death. I have an idea of the mistrust Stone is talking about. On November 22, 1963 at approximately 10:30 am. JFK was in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. JFK was in a 1961 Lincoln Continental with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis. When they were passing through Dealey Plaza Kennedy got sniped, and one bullet took his life at the age of 46. Dealey Plaza is where JFK was murdered, and o one knows for sure why this happened. President JFK had many enemies, so it's hard to tell if it was his own people or someone else sent from another country. All I got from the JFK historical movie investigation is that the person who took the shot was trained really well. Oswald just took the fall for the crime, and the investigators didn’t get the picture. They figured since people from the scene where killed it was now impossible to pinpoint the truth. It also didn’t help that it was obvious that there were corrupt agents involved.
Betrayal is a double cross of somebody that has your trust. You cannot betray someone that you don’t know. The actions that I expect from someone betraying a friend are hiding, avoiding eye contact, and feeling uncomfortable in front of the person being betrayed. Traitors often disappear because they don’t want you to know what they are doing against you. They avoid eye contact with you because they fear that you are going to see the betrayal in their eyes. They can also feel uncomfortable in front of you for the same reason. In other words, a good rule of thumb and also a saying in Mexican culture, No des todo el amor ni todo el dinero (don’t give all your love nor all your money). I apply that personal saying in my life. Other people may confuse betrayal with the words lying or backstabbing. Lying is not a betrayal because you can lie to someone that you don’t know and either harm them or make them feel better depending on the lie. Betrayal is easy to be confused with the word lying because it is harming and it is deceiving. Betrayal is something you don't do in the open because you are doing it to someone you know. Betrayal is not stabbing someone on the back, but rather letting the people putting their trust in you down. Unfortunately, many people notice a betrayal when it is already too late. In JFK’s case it cost him his life. It is not for sure who Betrayed him, but the investigation shows that someone close to him and with the power to get away unnoticed did it. We have to be careful who we trust and keep close to us because at the end of the day we don’t know if they are going to be the cause of our death.
JFK’s murder will always be remembered as the greatest betrayal in the history of the United States. When JFK was alive he didn’t realize that the people close to him were about to betray him. Many of his actions were leaving loop holes for his enemies to get to murder him. For example, his own government, the appointed U.S. Generals at the time, the CIA , Fidel Castro’s people, and the people rebelling against Castro were the problems. During JFK’s leadership he was faced with many External conflicts that I wish to highlight. These conflicts grew into the Vietnam War, Cold War, and war against communism in Cuba. JFK thought it was pointless for the United States to keep getting involved in the Vietnam War. In the present day people think the CIA committed the crime. They had the means necessary to go through with his death. JFK had the spotlight in the whole United States and he was promoting peace when his enemies wanted war. He was for peace and the ambition of his enemies made them conspire against him. He wanted peace so badly he made treaties with the Soviet Union, and was planning on stopping the war against Vietnam, and making peace with dictator Fidel Castro. Those were really heavy responsibilities for the young President JFK. He was a very wise man for his age, but I wonder what would have happened if the betrayal went wrong and JFK was still alive.
JFK’s enemies pulled off a Coup d’Etat (Seizure of Power). They needed to complete the task and murder him with no margin for errors. The wars were making them billions of dollars every year, so they were not going to let JFK stop their most profitable business war. His own people came to the conclusion that he was no longer the kind of president they needed because he was going to call back the U.S. troops and let the Vietnam War go, and was promoting peace across the whole country and other nations. JFK shook hands with Kreschev, and like that he completed the treaty of peace with the Soviet Union, and stopped the cold war.
The image I am presenting is JFK’s. The president of the United States of America. With the president having his head up with a firm look into the future. Behind him is the red, white, and blue flag representing the USA. In front of him there is a Microphone that looks ready to be used. In the Captions the creator of the poster wrote “A President Betrayed”. The Creator wants to let the people who look at the poster know that the president was betrayed. Everything that he represented like the flag of the United States, and the microphone that symbolizes his voice, and his ideas were also betrayed. The intended audience is the United States of America. I don’t think other countries would care about the treason of another country. The ad is asking the consumer to believe that JFK was betrayed. It is also saying that the country was betrayed as well because the people are the ones who vote for the president. The most important part of the poster that captured my attention is what he is caring behind his shoulders. He is caring for the whole country, the creator of the poster is using Pathos. I can tell because of the caption he uses. The caption makes me feel angry and deceptive. The words of the ad explains and emphasizes the picture because most of the country knows the story. He did not bother to explain that he was killed in his own country, and that there was a lot of covered and unshared information.
Roger Ebert doesn’t have the slightest idea whether Oliver Stone knows who killed President John F. Kennedy. Ebert says the film JFK is not about factual evidence of who killed the President. The film is about the feelings and the state of mind of the nation. We still don’t know if the assassination was done by the CIA, the FBI, Castro, the anti-Castro Cubans, the Mafia or the Russians, or all of the above were responsible for the conspiracy. Ebert describes the film as a masterpiece. He says that the film is like a collage of all the movies, debates, TV shows, and Conspiracy theories since 1963. After reading the article, I don’t see things the same way. I was being biased because everything said in the film made sense to me. JFK film is the first information I got from JFK’s assassination. Now I can see that maybe he is right, but then again he could be wrong. I agree with Ebert on the part that Stone focuses more on the feelings and the nation's state of mind. I am overwhelmed with Oliver Stone’s and Roger Ebert’s points of view. I can’t agree with both of them, so I am going to agree with Oliver Stone. I like how Eberts concludes his article. He goes over how most of the people that were close to JFK will be obsessed with looking for the truth for the rest of their lives. He describes the film as the nations feelings towards the assassination. More than feelings he mentions people’s unease and paranoia, our restless dissatisfaction. He mentions that all of the above are factual because it was done on a bigger scale. Whether one of them is right I will have a mental scar for the rest of my life. When I first started researching about the JFK assassination I never thought it was going to be so confusing. Now, I just think that this mystery will never be solved.
